Washington produces more cherries than any other state in the country. So it’s only fitting that Seattle’s Fair Isle should make a truly exceptional cherry Wild Ale.

Drawing inspiration from the beloved Krieks of Belgium, the brewers started with a tangy blend of mature Farmhouse Ales, each aged in oak barrels for up to 12 months. Then they refermented the brew on piles of locally grown Montmorency cherries. 

We’re expecting tart sips with hints of cherry candy and nuances of wild funk. Lemongrass, turned earth, and almond notes should usher the swig towards a dry, effervescent finish.

We suggest opening Val on a sunny afternoon while nibbling some cheese and crackers. Ideally with a good friend and nothing else to do until bedtime.
