And today we have a 4.42 Tavour-rated vintage bottle that sits among the best ever releases of this illustrious Stout — Coconut Cacao Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Star (2022).

The brewers at Fremont crafted this celebrated beer by blending Imperial Stouts aged between 8 and 24 months in 7-12 year old Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. Then they added heaps of coconut and the highest quality cacao nibs available from their friends at Theo Chocolate. 

The results are glorious. Every sip tastes like an artisanal dark chocolate truffle with a rich and creamy coconut filling. Roasty malts lend nuances of mocha flavor, while a touch of bourbon bestows a bit of warmth to a finish that’s briefly sweet, but never cloying.
