The last time we got our hands on a batch of The Anti-Life Equation, you all rated it a stellar 4.40 on Tavour! And you called it “boozy perfection,” “absolutely incredible,” and “damn spanky perfection!”
We’re not even sure what that last one means, but it sounds pretty great. So when they told us they were dropping a brand new blend for 2025, we jumped on it immediately!
To create this ode to oak, the brewers at Masthead first blended some of their very best, hand-selected, bourbon and rye barrel aged Stouts. Then they further aged the blend in whiskey barrels finished with ruby port wine.
Dive into these inky depths, and you’ll find yourself swimming through layers of plum and date, with notes of baker’s chocolate glittering in the darkness. Hints of whiskey and a touch of vinous port harmonize beautifully with the base beer, and the massive 15.4% ABV is so well disguised, you might forget all about it.
