If you want to find out what makes this exceptional crew so beloved, Estate Kriek (2024) is a fabulous introduction.
The brewers started with a Lambic-inspired mixed-culture base aged in French oak barrels. Then they added Carmine Jewel tart pie cherries from trees they planted with their friend Brian at Idiot’s Grace Orchard.
Vibrant stone fruit notes swirl through the tangy pour along with breezy floral nuances. Subtle wild funk and whispers of oak add hints of marzipan and graham cracker to the taste. And it all finishes dry, keeping each taste incredibly approachable.
Is pFriem REALLY the best brewery in the world? We suggest grabbing a bottle or two, inviting over some craft-loving buddies, and debating the issue until all the beer is gone. You might not come to any absolute conclusions, but it’s bound to be delicious!
