On May 25, 2027, Star Wars is turning 50! And I know just the legendary brew I’ll be drinking to celebrate — the long-awaited 2026 vintage of Deth’s Tar!
Or… I will be if my cans last that long. Realistically, my stash will probably go the way of Alderaan, absolutely decimated by my dark side… er, dark beer-loving friends and me.
The galactically-celebrated crew at Revolution crafted this menace with planet-destroying proportions of specialty malts plus oats for an Imperial Stout base as smooth and seductive as the Sith. Then, using techniques you can’t learn from a Jedi, they aged it in bourbon barrels, soaking it all in woody complexity.
You can anticipate getting helplessly pulled in by aromas of roasty espresso, baker’s chocolate, and crème brûlée like the Millennium Falcon to the Death Star. The taste should follow, with hints of raisin, oak, and mocha cascading through a sip as black as Vader’s helmet. Just don’t underestimate the power of its 14.8% ABV, or you might end up buzzing like a lightsaber!
Perhaps you’ll have more willpower than me and you won’t demolish your cans the moment they come, like the Empire crushing the Rebellion. But these beauties are sure to go just as great with some spooky movies this October as they are with a rewatch of your favorite Star Wars film.
