Lots of things MIGHT be over soon — the era of being more tech savvy than my kids or the Panthers’ shot at the Super Bowl, for example.
But when it comes to today’s Baltic Porter from Sapwood Cellars, there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I’m gonna guzzle this bad boy like there’s no tomorrow!
To craft this beauty, the Maryland malt masters took inspiration from a short-lived (but memorably delicious) Danish brew called Olfabrikken. And they used a combination of English brown malt, German debittered chocolate malt, and Belgian caramel syrup to give it layers of roasty, toasty, toffee-toned goodness.
Take a minute to meditate on your pint and you’ll be rewarded with notes of brown sugar, bitter baking cocoa, and pumpernickel bread crusts. Raisin and molasses nuances lend a subtle sweetness to a sip so crisp and smooth you’ll never want it to end.
And we absolutely recommend living in the moment with this one, whether you’re chilling out after a long day at work or savoring it beside a roaring fire.
